About Minorka

Minorka Miranda is a Clinical Mental Health Counseling Intern at Olive Tree, currently completing her Master's degree at Liberty University. Growing up connected to both Hispanic and American cultures shaped her deep appreciation for the diverse experiences, values, and traditions that influence who people are, and that perspective is central to how she works. She provides services in both English and Spanish.

Before entering the counseling field, Minorka built her foundation through athletics, coaching, and behavioral health. As a Behavioral Interventionist, she worked alongside neurodivergent children and their families, developing a strong understanding of individualized support and the importance of meeting each person where they are. Years of competitive tennis, coaching, and teaching reinforced what she already believed: that listening well, offering genuine encouragement, and recognizing each person's strengths matters as much as any technique.

Her Approach

Minorka believes counseling starts with creating a space where clients feel safe enough to be honest about their thoughts, emotions, and experiences. Rather than focusing only on the challenges that bring someone to counseling, she works to understand the whole person, including their story, strengths, relationships, culture, values, and goals. She believes every person is uniquely created, and that the differences that make us who we are deserve to be celebrated, not managed.

Her Christian faith is an important part of her identity and shapes the compassion and care she brings into her work. She does not impose her beliefs, but is open to incorporating faith into sessions when it is meaningful to the client.

Her Mission

Minorka's hope is simple: that clients leave each session feeling supported, encouraged, and a little lighter than when they arrived.
