About Kelsey

Kelsey Grummert is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker at Olive Tree with 10 years of experience in social work, the last four of those spent as a therapist. A New Bern native, she holds a Master of Social Work from Walden University and a Bachelor's in Psychology and Theological Studies from Welch College. The majority of her career has been spent working with children, adolescents, and their families.

Her Specialties

Kelsey is trained in Child-Parent Psychotherapy and is a certified Circle of Security Parenting facilitator. Both of those frameworks center on the same core idea: that understanding the meaning behind a child's behavior is what actually helps parents navigate it. She brings those tools into her work with young children and families, alongside her focus on anxiety, depression, trauma, and the perinatal and postpartum period.

The therapeutic relationship is important to how she works. She believes that the connection between therapist and client is not just a nice-to-have but a core part of what makes the work effective.

Outside of work, Kelsey spends time with her family and two dogs, shops, and gets out near the water whenever she can.
