About Andie

Andie Barnett is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor at Olive Tree, licensed to practice in both North Carolina and Florida. She goes by Andie, and that approachability is pretty representative of how she works. She earned her bachelor's degrees in Psychology and Religious Studies from East Carolina University and her master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University, where she concentrated in Christian Studies.

Before becoming a therapist, Andie spent six years as an administrative assistant in a primary care office. That background gives her a practical understanding of healthcare from the inside, and she brings that grounded perspective into her clinical work. She has worked with clients across a wide range of ages, backgrounds, and concerns including anxiety disorders, depressive disorders, adjustment disorders, and trauma.

Her Approach

Andie's approach starts with listening closely to the words people use, because she believes the language someone brings into the room says a lot about what they're carrying and who they are. Her role isn't to be an expert in her clients' lives. It's to walk alongside them, help them make sense of what they're feeling, and draw out the strengths they already have. She is genuinely hopeful about people's ability to create meaningful change, and that optimism shows up in how she works.
