With over 20 years of experience in the mental health field, I am honored to have shared different seasons of growth and struggle with individuals on their unique journeys. It takes courage to know your own limits, and to reach out for support. I prioritize building trust in an emotionally safe therapeutic alliance, where I can join you as we work to understand your story better. Therapy is a balance between support and challenge. It's an opportunity to be curious, a space to learn the root of what activates us and what we react to, and a space to gain new insights of what we value most in ourselves and relationships. When we continue to live out the same roles and coping patterns, without evaluation or change, we may be disconnected from that core part of ourselves.
My approach is collaborative and eclectic, drawing from Gestalt, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and internal family systems (IFS) styles. I earned a master's degree in counseling from Clarks Summit University (2005), and a bachelor's degree in family & community services from University of Delaware (2000), I complete additional training each year for continuing education requirements, including in trauma-informed care. I have been in private practice since 2015, and licensed in North Carolina since 2007. My focus is on helping adult individuals address anxiety, depression, life transitions, boundaries, relational dynamics, and self-care. I am trauma informed, and offer both short term, solution-focused tools, as well as creating an understanding of self through the psychodynamic process.
My hope is that you will feel empowered and supported in your search for healing, restoration, purpose, and joy. Please reach out to see if we are a good fit!
