R. David Morrow, Ph.D., LMFT

David Morrow is a highly experienced Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over 32 years of expertise in the field of mental health. As the CEO and Clinical Director of Olive Tree Family Counseling PLLC, he dedicates approximately 1,000 hours each year to providing counseling services. David holds a Ph.D. in Christian Organizational Leadership, a Master’s of Divinity in Pastoral Counseling and is ordained into the Gospel Ministry, combining his therapeutic proficiency with his faith-based background. His speaking engagements are known for their energetic delivery as he shares valuable insights and teachings on life skills from a faith perspective.

Beyond his professional endeavors, David finds immense joy in his marriage to Cheryl Morrow and their blended family. Together, they embrace the shared journey of life, which includes two children, two stepchildren, and one step-grandson. In his personal time, David indulges in his passions for playing music and golf, often sporting his favorite t-shirt that proudly showcases his musical prowess.

In addition to his counseling work, David has authored two books that address important aspects of relationships. "Through Her Eyes: A Man's Guide to His Wife's Need for Romance" is a faith-based book designed to help men comprehend and fulfill their wives' longing for romance. It emphasizes the husband's creative expression of love to make his spouse feel loved, honored and cherished. With 23 practical chapters offering insights and examples, the book guides readers in understanding their wife's needs, the significance of romance, and the cultivation of their own romantic creativity. The book concludes by highlighting the connection between love and service, urging husbands to emulate Christ's love for the church, including meeting their wife's need for romance. Each chapter concludes with a prayer.

Complementing the above book, "Through His Eyes: A Ladies Guide to Her Husband's Need for Peace" is a companion volume. Written in a conversational style, this book teaches women how to nurture their husband's longing for peace, creating an environment that sustains the pursuit of romance. It explores various types of love, love languages, and introduces the Hebrew concept of Shalom (peace), offering practical applications for marriage and family life. When used together, these books equip couples with the tools to establish or restore romantic peace in their relationship.

David's journey with Cheryl began in 2014 when they met on Christian Mingle. From their initial interaction, a real attraction and connection blossomed. They spent 27 hours speaking on the phone and discovered a shared vision from God to help couples and families. Convinced of their divine calling and ordained relationship, they married in 2016. Shortly after, they founded Fruitful Vine Family Ministries (FVFM), a non-profit organization approved as a 501(c)(3). FVFM is dedicated to providing Christian-oriented services that strengthen relationships, enhance problem-solving skills, and remove obstacles hindering individuals, couples, intact families, and blended families from fulfilling their God-given purpose.

Their teaching seminars, such as "Feeding the Flock Without Starving Yourself," focus on preventing burnout among pastors and ministers, helping them identify risks and patterns of neglect. Another seminar, "Recommit, Restore, and Renew," offers personalized guidance for couples, addressing common issues and promoting recommitment, restoration, and joy. David and Cheryl aspire to assist individuals and families in navigating mental health crises by providing basic understanding and local resources for ministers and lay-leaders.

David is able to accept the following insurances: Aetna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Medcost, Tricare, ChampVA, Optum/UHC, Curalinc EAP, UHC EAP, ESI EAP Jones Onslow, MyGroup EAP, and Medicare.
