Cyndy Brougher, Intern

As a Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT) intern, Cyndy is eager to apply the skills she has developed through both academic and life experiences to help individuals, couples, and families thrive. She will be graduating this fall with her Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Counseling from Capella University. Cyndy also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a Minor in Child Development from Arizona State University (ASU) and Ashford University. Her diverse professional background includes experience in ABA therapy, marketing, and ballroom instruction.

Cyndy is a proud military spouse of 20 years and a mom to three wonderful kids, ages 9, 13, and 18. Her own life experiences have given her a genuine understanding of the ups and downs that come with family life and relationships. She brings that perspective into her work, offering a caring, empathetic, and nonjudgmental approach to the people she supports.

Cyndy practices from a systemic perspective, focusing on patterns of interaction within families and how communication and behaviors are shaped by the roles people take on. She is especially drawn to Narrative Therapy and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) but values flexibility, tailoring her approach to meet the unique needs of each client. Cyndy strongly believes in the power of learning and growth, often incorporating psychoeducation and bibliotherapy to help clients build new skills and healthier ways of relating. She is expanding her expertise by pursuing certification in The Gottman Method and working toward AASECT certification as a sex therapist, with the goal of supporting a wide range of client needs. Continually inspired by the resilience of the human spirit, Cyndy feels honored to walk alongside clients in their healing journeys.
