Andie Barnett, LCMHC

My name is Andrea, but most people call me Andie. I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) and am licensed to practice in both North Carolina and Florida. I have over 3 years of experience as a therapist, but I am not new to the healthcare field — I previously worked as an administrative assistant for 6 years in a primary care office before transitioning into the counseling profession. I graduated from East Carolina University with my bachelor’s degree in Psychology as well as a bachelor’s in Religious Studies. I later earned my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University, where I continued my concentration in Christian Studies. I have worked with clients of different ages, races, religions, and genders, and have supported individuals with a range of concerns including anxiety disorders, depressive disorders, adjustment disorders, trauma, and more.

My therapeutic approach is to use the words that you speak to help make sense of the emotions that you feel and help me better understand you as a person. My role as your therapist is not to be an expert in your life, but to walk the journey with you—helping you uncover meaning for your life to create the best reality moving forward. I will focus on your strengths rather than deficiencies, and I am both hopeful and optimistic about your ability to create positive change for the future.
